Answers
Why when I click New SMS does it say the
security system is not initialised?
As soon as Outlook2SMS is run for the first
time, it registers you with the Outlook2SMS server (the
exchange of encryption keys occurs - this occurs via a specially designed
e-mail which is sent to our server). Once the security system has initialised,
this allows your SMS text messages with our server to be secure and encrypted.
This security ensures that your SMS's are protected and that no-one can
impersonate you.

by going to the Outlook2SMS menu and clicking on the 'Check

Can I use Outlook2SMS if I don't
use Microsoft windows operating systems?
Currently Outlook2SMS only works on the Microsoft
Windows platform. Future versions may cater for other operating systems such as
UNIX, MacOS etc. if there is sufficient demand.
What mail packages
are supported?
Currently only Outlook Express and Outlook 97/98/2000 and XP are
supported. In the future, support for Lotus notes and other mail packages will
be added according to user demand.
How do I know that
Outlook2SMS is working?
Outlook2SMS adds a few new menu options, buttons
and toolbars to your standard e-mail application. Other than this there are no
signs that the system is installed. The most important change is the addition
of the new Outlook2SMS button. When you click this Outlook2SMS
button an SMS composition window will appear. You can check that Outlook2SMS
is working by clicking on this button, composing a message and sending yourself
a test SMS.
Whenever I send
an SMS I only get a return email showing me the SMS message and telling me to
contact my reseller. Why is this?
You have installed the 'demo' version of Outlook2SMS.
This has been configured to demonstrate the features and functionality of the
program. If you would like to test the SMS coverage in your area, complete our
'test drive' form and state in the comments section that you have
already installed the 'demo' version. We will activate your account on our
authentication server.
How do I know that
my SMS message has been received?
Outlook2SMS includes a
number of features to confirm the receipt of your messages. Turn on 'Delivery
Receipting'. In the Outlook2SMS options menu, check that the
Delivery Notification Defaults are switched on. This will enable you to receive
an automatic email when your message reaches the mobile network. Outlook2SMS
creates a 'Sent SMSs' folder within your Outlook folder list. A date/time log
of your message is stored in this folder. Click on the 'Your Outlook2SMS
account' button on the Outlook Menu bar. This will show you the network status
of all your Scheduled, Bulk and Pending messages. If you have SMS
Administration status, you can log into your account on the
SMS Administration Page and view the detailed status of every SMS
message sent from your account.
I want
to change my user details (such as a phone number). How do I do this?
You can change your phone number editing your EMPLOYEE (user)
details from within the
SMS Administration Page . You will need to login using the details
sent to you when you signup for as a test user or as a registered user. If you
don't have these details, check with your company SMS Administrator or IT
support group.
Outlook2SMS
doesn't seem to allow me to add my Sender ID to my messages? How do I do this?
Select the Sender ID button
in the Bulk function and add your Sender ID header (up to 11 alphanumeric
characters) in the field provided. If you are using 2-way messaging, this field
is reserved for our mobile gateway number to enable SMS replies to be routed to
your Inbox. Switching to the clOutlook2SMS 1-way (bulk) messaging
gateway is a required to enable this function. This function can be performed
on your SMS
Administration Page . Contact your SMS Administrator for advice on
this function.
What's the big
deal about being able to switch between SMS gateways?
Different SMS gateways offer different performance parameters
and geographic reach. Outlook2SMS offers the unique function of
allowing you as an end user to select between our 1-way and 2-way gateways. The
One Globe Operator 1-way gateway is our low cost messaging service and
includes the ability to include your Sender ID
as a part of the outgoing message. The One Globe Operator 2-way gateway
automatically routes SMS replies to be e-mail Inbox. Alternatively, if you plan
to be away from your desk, these replies can be routed to your mobile handset.
Future releases of Outlook2SMS will also support MMS gateways.
(2-way gateway not supported at this time)
Why can't I attach or forward images
in my SMS?
SMS messages only allow for the sending of text characters.
Future communication standards such as EMS and MMS can cater for images,
unfortunately not all phones can currently accept these. Future versions of
Outlook2SMS will cater for these new message sending standards once phones
begin to cater for them.

if I do not have a permanent net connection?
Whenever you wish to send an SMS, you will have to connect to
the internet to send it. You can compose the SMS whilst you are offline and
then connect when you are ready to send it.

reminders?

menu category. Within this menu category choose the 'Options' menu item. This

Why does my Outlook not have the Outlook2SMS buttons and
toolbars?

an IPAQ or a Palm) they will prevent new instances of Outlook from having
the Outlook2SMS toolbars and buttons. To get these buttons
back, turn off the PDA synching software and then load outlook. You can then
re-load the synching software.

administrator when you purchased your licence. Additional SMS Credits are
available for purchase from the Power of
